  1. chortle…I’m non-adopted. I yelled that at my mom as a teen LOL. Adopted teen also yells at me, “I wish I was adopted into a different (generally richer) family because then they would XXX (fill in the blank for whatever I don’t do, buy, said no about…).

  2. I’m printing this out to give to my son… he was adopted Dec 29, 2009 at the age of 16 after spending his entire life in foster care. It’s hysterical, and so true :-)

  3. oh the Adoptive Family mag is out now??? =D i’ll have to order one =D…. i knew it was soon… thanks katie =D.

  4. Really fabulous! My sister is adopted from South Korea and my hubby and I are in the process of fost-adopt … these really speak to what we all go thru. So happy to have seen your work in Adoptive Family magazine. Just joined the Facebook fan page too. Keep up the great work!

  5. Ha ha! Just stumbled on your comic. My little sister is adopted and I’m not. We would always have these arguments with our parents when we were kids. She was sure they loved me more because I was of their blood or whatever. I was sure they loved her more because they got to choose her (they could have sent her back, but they were totally stuck with me even if they hated me). heehee

  6. I have four kids…two biological, two adopted (not biologically related to each other) and many years ago when there were either only 3 kids or #4 was still a baby, my 2nd child (first biological one) screamed at me after getting angry when I said no to something or other that she wished I wasn’t her birthmother. I held the hysterical laughter to within my head and chalked it up to things you might not hear at just any old neighborhood house :-) It’s all good and I am so glad to have found your website. I am curious about sharing it with my oldest son (almost 12, adopted as infant), so I will read more and then decide when/how to introduce him…. thanks for doing this.

  7. meagan – so glad you found the site! You absolutely should show it to your son – well, to all your kids! I think it would be great for them and be an opportunity for some great conversation!
